  1. Little Blue Penguins (6-12m - Parent in water)An introduction to the water in a safe and playful environment. Through songs, games, and guided movement, you’ll learn how to confidently support your baby as they explore floating, kicking, and basic water comfort.Target age 6 to 12 months
  2. Turtles (1-2 years - Parent in the water)With your support, your little swimmer will build confidence in the water through songs and games - laying the foundation for future swimming skills in a fun and safe environment.Target age 12 to 23 months
  3. Whistling Frogs (2-3 years - Parent in the water)With your support, your little swimmer will learn to kick, paddle, and float! With fun and gentle guidance, they'll start to trust their instructor, try independent submersions, and take their first splashes toward swimming independence.Target age 22 to 35 months
  4. Seahorses (3-4 years - Parent in water)Bridging the gap between parent assisted classes and independent preschool swim lessons, your child will continue to build water confidence while learning to follow instructions and engage more directly with their instructor.Target age 34 months to 3 years
  5. Whitebait (3-4 years - No parent in the water)This invitation-only class is designed for confident three year olds ready to be in a class without a caregiver. To join, your child must have graduated from Seahorses, be able to follow simple instructions, and fully submerge independently.Target age 3 years
  6. Inanga (4 years)This class is the perfect starting point for 4-year-olds who are ready to begin their independent swimming journey. Through songs, games, and activities, children will build confidence in the water while learning safety and foundational skills.Target age 4 years
  7. KokopuKokopu is for four-year olds who have mastered submerging their face in the water and are ready to take the next step in their swimming journey. A focus on independent floating and kicking with streamline arms.Target age 4 years
  8. KoaroKoaro is for four year olds who can fully submerge, glide, and change direction in the water and who are ready to begin learning formal stroke techniques.Target age 4 years
  9. Orange RoughyOur beginner class for school-age children, focused on building comfort and confidence in the water. Swimmers will learn to submerge, float on their front and back, and begin developing a strong kick.Target age 5 to 8 years
  10. KahawaiFor Swimmers who can fully submerge and independently float on front and back. Kahawai students build on previously learned skills, focusing on developing a long streamlined bodyline, freestyle arms, and improved body control.Target age 5 years or older
  11. TarakihiFor those who can glide front and back with a long body and show long legged kicking. A basic level of freestyle arm technique is a must before entering this class. A focus on correct body positioning and timing for freestlye breathing on both sides.Target age 6 years or older
  12. HapukuHapuku swimmers build on the freestyle breathing drills introduced in the Tarakihi level, aiming to master bilateral breathing in freestyle and develop strong stroke mechanics.Target age 6 years or older
  13. MarlinsMarlins builds on the freestyle breathing skills developed in the Hapuku level while transitioning into the main pool. Swimmers work on mastering bilateral freestyle breathing, developing fluid backstroke arms, and developing their breaststroke kick.Target age 8 months or older
  14. BroadbillsSwimmers focus on refining their freestyle and backstroke with consistent form over 25 meters. They work on developing breaststroke coordination and breathing over half a length, along with early diving skills. The level also introduces dolphin kick.Target age 8 years or older
  15. Tiger SharksFor beginner swimmers aged 9 and above. Designed for older learners to build essential swimming and water safety skills. A focus on developing confidence in submersion, floating, and the foundations of freestyle and backstroke.Target age 8 years or older
  16. Hammerhead SharksFor swimmers aged 9 and above that have the fundamentals of swimming including freestyle and backstroke. They'll build on the skills developed in Tiger Sharks, with a focus on mastering freestyle breathing, developing a fluid backstroke.Target age 9 to 13 years
  17. Moray EelsA 45-minute class where swimmers consolidate their skills and build fitness, working towards swimming 100 meters continuously. The focus is on developing controlled distance with precise freestyle and backstroke technique, while refining breaststroke
  18. StingraysStingrays focus on building sustainable stroke technique through precise instruction, with an emphasis on 25m and 50m swims using correct form. Butterfly arm action is introduced, along with medley swimming, and breaststroke turns.
  19. OrcaOrcas is our top swim school level, designed for swimmers who can confidently swim in a lane with others and complete multiple lengths in all four strokes. The focus is on developing fitness, speed, and strong stroke mechanics.
  20. Adult BeginnersAn adult beginner class for those that have no previous swimming experience, or for those that lack confidence in the water. The focus is on developing confidence in submersion, floating, and the foundations of freestyle and backstroke.Target age 18 years or older
  21. Adult ImproversA class for adults to refine their skills in the water, building sustainable stroke technique through precise instruction.Target age 18 years or older
